Abandon the search for truth. Settle for a good fantasy. -Anonymous, and why I write and read There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written, or badly written. That is all. -Oscar Wilde, and why I read what I read All happy families resemble each other, each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. -Leo Tolstoy, and why I write what I write It is impossible to enjoy idling thoroughly unless one has plenty of work to do. -Jerome K. Jerome, and why I love the fandom as much as I do

The light by your bed burns brightly, and in the silence of the room you flip the page of a book, but the black ink bleeds into the paper and the lines blur into meaningless jumble.
You stop to rub your temples and you fetch another cup of tea.
You sip, and the aroma nudges your senses awake, so you resume waiting for him to come home, with alcohol in his breath and the marks of other men on his skin. You open the book.
Nothing still makes sense.
It is late, and you are as blind as the night.

Title: One Way or Another Fandom: Harry Potter Pairing: Harry/Colin Length: 100 words Rating: G Warnings: None Summary: Colin watches Harry. Additional Notes: For mandrake1981, who requested for a Harry/Colin drabble. Erm, this was the very first drabble I wrote for the holiday drabbles, so, apologies as I was likely still getting into the whole drabbling thing then. Harry never looked at him, never glanced his way, never saw him through eyes that never dulled even when-- Harry never knew he was there, even when he was the only one looking. Even when he was the only one there. He took pictures anyway, and he never stopped, even when Hermione had asked him to, even when Ron had threatened him if he didn't. He had to be careful not to be seen though, except now not even Harry's pictures look at him anymore. He waited for the last photo to dry. It doesn't matter. One day Harry will. Title: Vases of Vanity Fandom: Harry Potter Pairing: Pansy/Ginny Word Count: 100 words Rating: PG Additional Notes: Written for fallenravie, who requested Pansy/Ginny with the prompt "See yourself through flowers in a jar". She turns her face at different angles, examines her make-up, and nods at herself in the mirror. "Ready for the Ball?" "In a while," she calls out, and steps out in elegant robes. She is beautiful. *She tucks pale freckled arms into his, blushes at compliments, and hears them whisper, 'she's so lucky'. "Have I introduced you to--" "Pleased to meet you," she says, smiling amidst envious awe. She is sweet. *Later they are alone-- her make-up is smudged, her smile is gone. She isn't beautiful with lonely tears, and her desperate kisses aren't sweet. It's not what matters. Title: Fifth Year Kisses Fandom: Harry Potter Pairing: Bill/Charlie Word Count: 100 words Rating: PG-13 Additional Notes: As requested for by postingwhore, with the keywords "Angst angst angst". I'm not quite sure that's how it ended up, but, er. Posted now because it is her birthday. Happy birthday! <333 Bill taught Charlie how to kiss Susan Abbey in fifth year, and Charlie wondered why he'd tasted better than Susan. Maybe it had been Susan's inexperience, or maybe Charlie was really more comfortable with Bill, but five months into kissing Susan and he still felt something was off. He wondered if maybe - He kissed Bill again that summer, from out of the blue while they were out in the garden, and Bill had pushed him away and there'd been anger and shock and fear in his eyes. Susan came by, and she kissed him hello. Bill still tasted better. Tags: character: bill weasley, character: charlie weasley, rating: pg13, type: rare ships, type: slash, word count: 100
